Anne Hyland is a journalist covering Asia for a range of international titles, including The Australian Financial Review, The Wall Street Journal Asia, The South China Morning Post, The Diplomat, The Spectator, Private Eye and Asiamoney.
Anne began her career as a journalist in Australia in 1994, working for News Corporation's The Courier-Mail and later The Sydney Morning Herald. She moved to London where she worked on staff for the Daily Telegraph and then The Guardian. In 2001, she took a position in Hong Kong, where she worked for three years as a correspondent for Australia's influential daily newspaper The Australian Financial Review, reporting on China and East Asia. Now based in Bangkok, Anne's work as a freelance journalist means she travels regularly across the region. She has visited more than 50 countries, reporting from 20, including Iran and North Korea. She has studied Spanish, and enjoys photography. A number of Anne's photographs have been published in the international titles listed above.
